Changes to Local Policy FDB

Changes to Local Policy FDB: Admissions: Intradistrict Transfers and Classroom Assignments were approved by the AISD Board of Trustees on April 27, 2015. The changes impact the admission of priority transfers into frozen schools (i.e., schools with no available space). There are three types of priority transfers: majority-to-minority, sibling, and tracking.

Beginning with the 2016-2017 school year, in an effort to relieve overcrowding, majority to minority transfers will only be accepted at campuses where space is available. Space is not available at frozen campuses. Superintendent Paul Cruz will announce the list of frozen campuses for the 2016-2017 school year on December 14, 2015.

Beginning with the 2017-2018 school year, in a continuing effort to relieve overcrowding, in addition to the majority to minority priority transfers, sibling and tracking transfers will also only be accepted at campuses with space available. An announcement of which schools will not have space in 2017-2018 (i.e., frozen), will be made in December 2016.

Cambios en la Norma Local FDB

Cambios en la Norma Local FDB: Admisiones: Los traslados dentro del distrito y los trabajos del salón de clases fueron aprobados por la Mesa Directiva del AISD el 27 de abril de 2015. Los cambios afectan la admisión por traslados prioritarios a las escuelas congeladas (es decir, escuelas sin espacio disponible). Existen tres tipos de traslados prioritarios: de mayoría a minoría, de hermanos y de seguimiento.

A partir del año escolar 2016-2017, en un intento por reducir la sobrepoblación, los traslados de mayoría a minoría sólo se aceptarán en las escuelas donde haya espacio disponible. No hay espacio disponible en las escuelas congeladas. El 14 de diciembre de 2015, el Superintendente Paul Cruz anunciará la lista de escuelas congeladas para el año escolar 2016-2017.

Con el fin de seguir reduciendo la sobrepoblación, a partir del año escolar 2017-2018, además de los traslados de mayoría a minoría, los traslados de hermanos y los de seguimiento, solo serán aceptados en las escuelas donde haya espacio disponible. En diciembre de 2016 se anunciarán aquellas escuelas que no tendrán espacio disponible (es decir, que estarán congeladas) en 2017-2018.

All AISD activities have been cancelled for tomorrow due to inclement weather because of this we are canceling our fall carnival. Please be safe this weekend and we will see everyone Monday morning.

Our carnival has been rescheduled to THIS Saturday, October 31st from 11-2! Come out in your costumes and enjoy games, food and the haunted house. Wristbands and tickets are still on sale.
