The Austin Council of PTAs (ACPTA) joins a tradition dating back to 1957 of bi-partisan opposition to using public dollars to fund school voucher programs by any name. Sign our letter to demand Texas policymakers re-commit, not divest, from their constitutional duty to our public schools.

Texas State Rep. Vikki Goodwin wants you to call, write, or visit your state representative and any member of the House Public Education Committee, Senate Education Committee, or House Appropriations Committee and tell them how much you love your public schools and how important it is they:
> Vastly increase our basic allotment to allow schools to pay teachers more
> Move to enrollment-based funding to provide economic stability to our districts
> Say NO to vouchers and charter proliferation - an irresponsible use of our tax payer money that funnels money away from the public school system the children in our state depend on.
