🇧🇷 Tem gente que aprende português na sala de aula. Aqui, a gente aprende no recreio, na cozinha, no palco e até nas férias.

O Projeto Brasil nasceu para ser muito mais do que aulas de idioma: é um programa completo de Português como Língua de Herança, pensado para crianças e adolescentes que carregam o Brasil no coração, mesmo morando longe dele.

Nas aulas semanais, cultura, história e gramática caminham juntas. Nas oficinas, que se renovam a cada cinco semanas, a criançada coloca a mão na massa com culinária, arte, dança e musicalização. E quando chegam as férias, os Camps de Spring Break e Summer garantem que o aprendizado continue, só que embalado por muita diversão.

Cada atividade tem um propósito: manter viva a língua, a cultura e a identidade brasileira em cada aluna e aluno, não importa onde estejam.

🇺🇸 Some people learn Portuguese in a classroom. Here, kids learn it at recess, in the kitchen, on stage, and even during school breaks.

Projeto Brasil was created to be so much more than a language class. It’s a comprehensive Portuguese Heritage Language program designed for children and teens who carry Brazil in their hearts, even while growing up far from it.

In our weekly classes, Portuguese language, Brazilian culture, history, and grammar come together. Every five weeks, our workshops give kids new ways to learn through hands-on experiences like cooking, art, dance, and music. And when school is out, our Spring Break and Summer Camps keep the Portuguese going through play, connection, and lots of fun.

Everything we do has a purpose: to keep the Portuguese language, Brazilian culture, and a strong sense of identity alive for every student, no matter where they grow up.

Agora imagina seu filho vivendo tudo isso em português!

Na Oficina de Brincadeiras Tradicionais, crianças de 3 anos ao K descobrem que aprender uma língua também é sobre correr, rir e brincar de roda. Elefante Colorido, Corre Cotia, Coelhinho na Toca e muitas outras brincadeiras que atravessaram gerações ganham vida nas nossas aulas, embaladas por música e muita energia boa.

Não tem fórmula mágica pra ensinar português: tem brincadeira, tem afeto, tem infância. E é isso que a gente faz por aqui.

In Projeto Brasil’s Traditional Brazilian Games Workshop, children ages 3 through Kindergarten will discover that learning Portuguese can also mean running, singing, laughing, and playing together. Games that have been passed down through generations come to life through music, movement, and lots of fun.

Because learning Portuguese doesn’t have to happen sitting at a table. It can happen while playing, connecting with friends, and simply being a kid.

🇧🇷 Em Austin, existe uma comunidade brasileira que segue se encontrando, aprendendo e mantendo o português vivo.

É esse encontro que dá vida a esse espaço. Um lugar criado para que crianças e adolescentes, de famílias brasileiras ou com raízes brasileiras, continuem construindo sua relação com a língua e a cultura do Brasil, mesmo estando tão longe dele.

As aulas acontecem no CBA - Cultura Brasil Austin, semanalmente, de forma presencial e online, e essa conexão se dá através de artes, música, dança, STEAM, leitura, história do Brasil e muito mais, sempre dentro da proposta de Português como Língua de Herança.

🇧🇷 Cada idade tem seu jeito de amar o Brasil.

Tem os pequenininhos que descobrem tudo brincando, uma cantiga aqui, uma receita ali, e o português vai entrando sem esforço. Tem os que já estão lendo, escrevendo e brincando com a gramática de um jeito que faz até esquecer que é aula, enquanto criam projetos do começo ao fim. E tem os que já encaram o português como ferramenta de verdade, se preparando pro AAPPL e garantindo crédito lá no High School, tudo isso mergulhados em cultura, arte e história através de projetos de STEAM. Fases diferentes, o mesmo Brasil pulsando em cada uma.

🇺🇸 Every age has its own way of connecting with Brazil.

For our youngest learners, it starts with play: a song here, a story there, a Brazilian recipe, and Portuguese becoming part of the fun along the way.

As they grow, students begin reading, writing, and exploring grammar in ways that feel anything but traditional. They create projects from start to finish, using Portuguese with a real purpose while discovering more about Brazil and its culture.

And for our older students, Portuguese becomes a powerful tool. They strengthen their language skills, prepare for the AAPPL assessment, and work toward earning high school language credit, all while exploring Brazilian culture, art, history, science, and more through hands-on STEAM projects.

Different ages. Different ways of learning. The same connection to Brazil running through it all.

🇧🇷 Tem quinta-feira que é só mais um dia da semana. E tem quinta-feira que é a hora em que seu filho reencontra (ou descobre) o Brasil.

No Projeto Brasil, essa é a proposta: Português como Língua de Herança, pensado pra quem carrega o Brasil no coração, mesmo que o português ainda esteja se firmando na rotina.

As aulas são um convite pra experimentar a cultura brasileira de verdade: histórias que prendem a atenção, músicas que f**am na cabeça, culinária que desperta curiosidade e brincadeiras que fazem o vocabulário grudar sem esforço. Aqui, as crianças descobrem o português brincando: cantigas, parlendas, histórias e culinária para os pequenos. Para os maiores, leitura, escrita e gramática sem sofrimento (valeu, Gramaticoteca!), com projetos onde eles pesquisam, criam e apresentam o que aprenderam.

Prático, acessível e pertinho de casa para quem já vive por essa região.

🇧🇷 Desde 1999 ajudando famílias brasileiras (e brasileiras de coração) em Austin a manter viva a língua e a cultura do Brasil.

O Programa para Crianças tem opções para cada fase: aulas para a Educação Infantil, a partir dos 36 meses, com historinhas e música. Para quem já está no Kindergarten até o 5º ano, aulas em português com projetos de ciências, artes, história e tecnologia, sempre estimulando a conversação.

Our Children’s Program grows with your child. Starting at age 3, our Early Childhood classes bring Portuguese to life through stories, music, play, and hands-on experiences. From Kindergarten through 5th grade, students learn in Portuguese through engaging projects in science, art, history, and technology, while building their confidence and communication skills along the way.

For preteens and teens, Portuguese takes on a whole new dimension.

No dia 5 de setembro, a maior celebração brasileira da cidade toma conta do Radio/East Austin, das 17h às 23h. O Brazil Day ATX, organizado pela Cultura Brasil Austin, celebra a Independência do Brasil com música ao vivo, comida, dança e muita diversão para as crianças também.

🇺🇸 Austin turns into Brazil for a day. And Projeto Brasil and Bilingual Minds will be there!

On September 5th, the city’s biggest Brazilian celebration takes over Radio/East Austin from 5 PM to 11 PM. Brazil Day ATX, hosted by Cultura Brasil Austin, celebrates Brazil’s Independence Day with live music, food, dance, and plenty for the kids too.

The Kids Zone will be packed with fun, including face painting, a balloon artist, an inflatable, games, a special soft play area for little ones ages 0 to 3, and even a magician!

Projeto Brasil and Bilingual Minds will have a shared space where you can get to know both programs, meet our team, spin our prize wheel, and even score a discount on enrollment.
