Texans want better health care, safer hospitals, and a future that works for all of us. We can make that a reality when we vote for leaders who put people over profits!
Texas AFL-CIO
We’re the state labor federation representing 250,000+ union members. We fight for all Texas workers! We work the early shift and the late shift.
We are teachers, firefighters and farm workers, actors and engineers, pilots and public employees, painters and plumbers, steelworkers and screenwriters, doctors and nurses, stagehands, electricians and more. We are the unemployed, students and retirees. We believe that people who work make Texas work and that together, we are better.

The Texas AFL-CIO mourns the passing of Dean Corgey, a pillar of the Texas labor movement and a lifelong fighter for working people.
For more than 50 years, Dean fought for maritime workers, strengthened unions across Texas, and mentored the next generation of labor leaders.
As a Texas AFL-CIO Executive Board Member, he offered wisdom through straight talk and would sometimes even grace us with a song.
Dean will be missed.
We extend our deepest condolences to his family, friends, and his Seafarers International Union brothers and sisters.
