Good news for anyone who's been wanting to present at TxDLA: the call for proposals for the 2027 conference is open now.

This year's theme is From the Ground Up: Building Digital Learning for All, so we're especially interested in sessions on accessibility, universal design, and building programs that work for every learner from day one. Instructional design, leadership, EdTech tools, and student engagement sessions are all fair game too.

Present in person March 7–10 at Embassy Suites in Denton, or join us virtually March 31–April 1 if you can't make the trip. Submissions close October 1. https://www.txdla.org/call-for-speakers-digital-learning-conference-texas/

Dr. Mac Adkins shares practical strategies for detecting and deterring AI use during proctored exams, including second-camera setups that widen visibility without adding friction for students. Free, Wed August 19, 12 PM CDT. https://www.txdla.org/event-listing/detecting-ai-use-proctored-exams/

Getting students to engage is the eternal teaching struggle, whether you're wrangling third graders or grad students who've perfected the silent Zoom camera. Amy Leggat, M.Ed., taught in Texas classrooms before joining Padlet, and on August 5 she's sharing research-based strategies that give every student a reason and a place to speak up. Real classroom examples, your questions welcome, zero awkward icebreakers. Free, Wed August 5, 12-1 CDT.
