We’re thrilled to share that Austin Community College is experiencing a nearly 20% enrollment surge for the upcoming Fall semester! As a result, the A&E CAD department is expanding and we are hiring adjunct faculty for all of our specializations. If you have 3+ years of experience in the field, we would love to have you back in the department to teach and share your expertise with our students.
We’re Hiring for All Specializations
• We are currently hiring adjunct faculty for all specializations within the A&E CAD department: Architecture, Architectural BIM/CAD, Civil CAD, Electronic CAD & Mechanical CAD.
• While we welcome applicants in all areas, we have an urgent need for a new MEP instructor in our Architectural BIM/CAD program using Revit for the upcoming Fall semester.
• Adjunct faculty teach one class per semester.

How to Prepare
• Dress Nicely: Wear business casual attire—neat, wrinkle-free, and in dark or neutral colors. Comfortable shoes are a must since you'll be on your feet a lot.
• Bring Your Resume and Portfolio: If you’re hoping to get hired, make sure these are updated and ready to go. Check for any formatting errors and tailor them to your industry.
• Practice Your Elevator Pitch: Prepare a brief introduction about yourself, your skills, and why you’re there. Employers want to hear your value quickly!
• Clean Up Your Social Media: Employers will likely review your social media profiles. Make sure they reflect professionalism and align with your career goals.
Career Passport
• We’ll have Career Passports available at the event. Collect 10 signatures from employers, and you’ll earn an extra raffle ticket for door prizes. You can also show your completed passport to your instructor for extra credit in your CAD classes!
Tips for Approaching Employers
• Be Confident: Approach employers with a friendly attitude, make eye contact, and have a firm handshake.
• Ask Smart Questions: Research the companies you're most interested in and ask about career growth, company culture, and specific roles.
• Be Ready for Follow-Up: After the fair, make sure to follow up with employers to express your interest and thank them for their time.

🚀 Field Trip to East West Manufacturing! 🚀
Our A&E CAD Printed Circuit Board Design class had an amazing field trip to East West Manufacturing in Round Rock! A special thank you to our tour guides, Roger Hamilton and Richard Tsukano, for showing us the PCB assembly process.
It was an invaluable opportunity for our students to see classroom concepts applied in the real world and deepen their understanding of PCB design.
