Joy is not the reward you receive after your prayer is answered. It is the strength you carry while you are still believing. Isaiah 12:3 tells us that with joy we draw water from the wells of salvation. That means joy is involved in the drawing, not just the receiving.

Pastor Rory unpacked this truth from Matthew 16 and Proverbs 4 -- showing how Peter's revelation that Jesus is "the Christ, the Son of the living God" did not come by accident. "Blessed are you" came AFTER Peter's revelation — not before. The blessing of God is already yours in Christ, but it only MANIFESTS after revelation. What you look at and repeatedly hear forms your reality. Look into God's Word and keep looking.
