Congrats to Tammy Linseisen and Mateo Vallejo for their awards from the NASW Texas Capital Area Branch!

Linseisen earned the Lifetime Achievement Award and Vallejo earned Student of the Year. Linseisen is a clinical professor at UT Social Work and Vallejo is a first-year MSSW student.

Both Linseisen and Vallejo accepted their awards during a luncheon at Stiles Switch BBQ on Wednesday, April 22.

Yesterday, ARI staff and partners had the pleasure to join the Communities for Recovery LifeBuilder Luncheon!

This year was extraordinarily inspirational as we honored the legacy of our former Associate Director of Education & Training, Lori Holleran Steiker, Ph.D.. Communities for Recovery established the Heart of Recovery Lifetime Achievement Award in her name. Julie McElrath, MSSW of CLEAN Cause Foundation and Philander Moore of HHSC presented the award. The inaugural recipients are giants in harm reduction, Charles Thibodeaux and the late Mark Kinzley.

The ARI stands in solidarity with our community partners to continue supporting critical and supports along the system of care.

Today some of the ARI staff had the privilege to attend the 30th annual Governor’s Criminal Justice Volunteer Service Award ceremony honor all 22 award recipients, including Trisha Bos , the lead for the Big Texas Recovery team, which has hosted 2 Big Texas Rallies for Recovery within TDCJ units and continues to promote peer support and recovery! The Outstanding Supervisor Awards Program recognizes non-teaching UT Austin employees who have made outstanding contributions to the continuing success of the University.
