And that’s a wrap on our final assembly of the year!

A huge shoutout to our incredible 5th grade assembly leaders who brought energy, confidence, leadership, and so much personality to every single assembly this year. From leading pledges and announcements to running the show behind the scenes, these students truly set the tone for our school community.

Thank you for being role models, problem solvers, encouragers, and leaders our younger Tigers could look up to. We are so proud of the way you represented Sycamore Springs this year.

Hays County law enforcement has advised DSISD that e-motorcycles are against the law for drivers under the age of 15, and are prohibited on our school campus. E-motorcycles require a driver’s license, registration, and insurance to operate, and are treated the same as a motor vehicle under the law.
Beginning tomorrow, April 30, if a student arrives at school on an e-motorcycle, parents or guardians will be contacted and asked to come to the school to retrieve the vehicle. Students will not be permitted to ride the e-motorcycle home.

We appreciate your cooperation in maintaining the safety of our campus and ensuring compliance with Texas law.

Due to the current weather conditions and steady rain this morning, we will be delaying the start of Field Day.

The rain band is expected to move through and begin clearing between 8:00 – 9:00 am, so we are adjusting our schedule to allow time for conditions to improve and for our fields to be ready.

Updated Plan:

Field Day will now begin at 9:15 am

We will continue to monitor conditions closely and proceed as safely as possible once the weather clears.

Thank you for your flexibility this morning—we’re still looking forward to a great Field Day once the skies cooperate!

Celebrating our Teacher of the Year, Mrs. Gomez!
Our students had so much to say about how kind, fun, and caring she is, and we couldn’t agree more. As an amazing 1st grade teacher, Mrs. Gomez fills her classroom with love, patience, and encouragement every single day. She makes learning exciting and makes every child feel special.

Huge shoutout to our Paraprofessional of the Year, Coach Reagan!
Our students wanted to make sure she knows just how much she means to them. In PE, Coach Reagan brings energy, encouragement, and a whole lot of heart to everything she does. As our amazing PE para, she keeps our kids moving, smiling, and believing in themselves every single day.
