In honor of World Bipolar Day, we’re spreading awareness about the connection between bipolar disorder and substance abuse. Bipolar disorder makes people more likely to abuse drugs and alcohol.
In a study of people with bipolar disorder, approximately 60% had some history of substance abuse disorder.
