Austin Pre-Physician Assistant Society

Hey everyone! Here is a rundown of the important topics we discussed in yesterday's meeting:

1) The last 3 meetings will be held at CLA 0.112 on Mondays from 6-7 PM (10/21, 11/4, 11/18)

2) Sign-ups for Baylor School Trip on November 15th (3-5 PM) coming soon! There is a preference given to the more active members, so start going to events! :)

3) Remember if you are unable to make any of the meetings, you MUST attend 1 ushering event. If this is not possible, please email me at [email protected]

4) Dues are due NEXT meeting! $30 for the semester, $40 for the year.

5) T-shirts are in! We are selling the Dr. Who shirts for $5, and the pocket shirts for $15! Wear any Pre-PA shirt to an event/meeting up to 4 times and you get 1 point to count towards anything!

7) Lastly, here is a reminder of the points you need for this semester to be considered an "active" member

Meetings: 3 out of 5
Social: 2 events
Fundraising: 2 points (Ushering once takes care of this)
Volunteering: 4 points (>2 hours= 2 points, which is essentially every volunteer event besides Adopt-a-Kiosk so basically you just need to go to 2 events!)

Ways to get easy points:
1) Wear your t-shirt 4 times----1 point
2) Fill out an outside volunteering form---1 point
3) Driving others to an event---0.5 points each time

Hey guys! Thanks so much for coming out tonight! I would like to apologize for the lengthy meeting; we just had a lot of information to cover for the first meeting. The rest of the meetings we will try to finish by 6:25 or 6:30 and the speaker will then cover the rest of the time. Anyways, here is a quick summary of important things we talked about tonight:

1) MEETINGS ARE EVERY TWO WEEKS FROM 6-7 PM.

2) Dues need to be paid by the 3rd meeting; $30 for the semester or $40 if you want to pay for the whole year!

3) REQUIREMENTS:

Meetings: 3 out of 5
Fundraising: 2 events (ONE USHERING SHIFT COMPLETES THIS!!)
Social: 2 events

Volunteering: 4 points (2 hours= 1 point; >2 hours=2 points)
4) Extra Credit:

Wear PA shirt 4 times= 1 point
Outside Volunteering up to 1 point
If you attended TAPA, you get 1 point!

5) Shadowing:

CTPA PA Shadowing Coordinator: Send an email as early as you can to the following gmail account requesting shadowing opportunities and hopefully they can match you up with a PA! [email protected]

6) Banquet- Free fancy dinner in the Spring if you meet all the requirements!

7) We will have new and old t-shirts for sale by the next meeting! Pictures are in the power point below

There are plenty plenty of volunteer events, and all of them will be posted on our website orgsync with sign-up forms! Also, I have omitted several details, so if you want to know concrete details like date & time, you can look at the power point below :) Don't worry you will be getting a heads-up on most (if not all) of these events.

Two ushering shifts= Free shirt and we will give you back your dues you paid for the semester!

Hey everyone! This is just a friendly reminder that our first general meeting will be held tomorrow (Monday) at the new liberal arts building: CLA 0.128 from 6-7 PM. We will be discussing the PA profession, how to be an active member/obtain points, dues, t-shirts, and much more. Also, there will be a PA who currently teaches at UTMB coming to speak, so have all your questions ready! Come early if you want free Chick-Fil-A! I hope to see all of you there!

Hey guys! I hope everyone had a fantastic summer, but now it's time to ease our way back into school mode! I just wanted to update you guys about when and where the meetings are scheduled for the fall semester. All of our meetings will be held on Mondays from 6-7 PM. We have 5 general meetings scheduled for this semester:
