“Putting it together, that’s what counts.”

The 2026 Lake Travis Cavalier Band is excited to explore the creative process using Stephen Sondheim’s iconic score from “Sunday in the Park with George”. Beginning as a blank canvas, we will journey through the elements of design, composition, light, and harmony to transform black and white into a brilliant color spectrum. Come with us to discover nuance, beauty, and a world full of possibility as we are Putting It Together!

A performance is rarely perfect on the first try. Neither is a design, a painting, a dance or a piece of music.

Students learn to listen, adjust and try again. They accept feedback without abandoning their ideas. They contribute to something larger than themselves—and understand that other people are depending on them to be prepared.

That is creativity in practice. Communication under pressure. Collaboration with real responsibility. Discipline, adaptability and resilience built through experience.

Fine arts does more than teach students what to create. It teaches them how to work.

Those skills follow students into every career, every relationship and every community they will help shape.
