Effective Altruism Society Austin Chapter

What if you could prevent the next pandemic? Or tackle other pressing problems like climate change, transformative AI, nuclear war, global poverty, or animal welfare?

In our introductory program, we introduce the ideas and applications of effective altruism: the practice of combining compassion, ethics, evidence and reason to find the *best* opportunities to help others. It's about optimizing your efforts and finding levers you never knew existed so you can fulfill your potential to make a difference.

The program runs for 4 weeks (Nov 6-Dec 3), and requires 4 flexible hours per week. It will fit most professional schedules.

We hope you join us and other Austin professionals to learn about the world's most pressing problems and how you can help solve them. You really can help, especially if you join the tens of thousands of others using these ideas to change the world.
