She keeps popping up, so I guess I better listen! The World is the ultimate Why. Why are we here doing this?

But you can break that down into other questions: What would you tell your deathbed self about the meaning of life? What’s the point of all of this but explain it like I’m three? I loved sitting on the Zilker lawn tonight with a friend and contemplating!

Tarot at with .jones.tx! Madie and I met two years ago through Airbnb Experiences and have kept up through the love of fitness, hobbies and making meaning out of the mess!

To kick off 2026, she invited me to read for the class, and these were the cards we talked about:

Hermit into the Wheel (for 2026)
Moon (for the new moon in Sagittarius)
Six of Pentacles into the Eight of Pentacles

We talked about finding our center in the dark, balancing the wild side you know with the even wilder one you don’t, and transforming work into Work through generosity and building beyond the binary.

Thank you for the invite to class, Madie!! Fellow riders, I loved sharing that space with you. ✨🌈🏳️‍🌈🦄🚴

Check out her class if you need a boost of self-care! It’s a dance party and place to let it all out. 😅😭🫶💯

Oh hai, new tarot deck!

I found this sweet dog-themed tarot deck at , and decided to break it in just up the way at .

Of course, I pulled the Fool card for myself. (Not uncommon in a new, if well-shuffled deck.)

And the Hermit card for a friend, which feels very appropriate for this heat!

The 7 of Pentacles can be a hard card to love because it doesn’t promise immediate returns

But that’s where the growth lies.

Patience doesn’t grow on trees — Don't Fear the Death Card 04/14/2025

If you're feeling antsy about projects (or money or tariffs or the stock market), maybe this Seven of Pentacles can help.

Patience doesn’t grow on trees — Don't Fear the Death Card On the Pentacle journey, where we are exploring money, resources, wealth and generational inheritance, it’s not uncommon to hit some lulls on your way to that library where the King of Pentacles sits with his commanding knowledge or the forest ruled by the Queen of Pentacles with her steady abunda...

It’s hard to feel like a King of Pentacles when we’re collective suffering thanks to the shadow energy of said King, but politics and personal growth will always feed one another.

It’s hard to read these days without bringing up what’s going on in the greater world, but those players provide helpful metaphors for how *not* to wield power.

The Magician, which came up in the “what’s hidden underneath” place behind that King, suggests trying something that only you can do even if you’re not entirely sure how you do it.

I am grateful to have spent Saturday night with in my own little hermit sauna, pulling cards and feeling centered in my own magic.

In an economy like this, you can’t afford not to.

The King of Fools is not a card.

The Fool is a figure, a Major Arcana card that walks through the cards and evolves with every other Major card. Magician to World, the Fool stops being a Fool when THEY (love the Theys and Thems and will never stop fighting for them) accept the lessons handed to them along the way.

This powerful deck is the Unbridled Spirit Tarot, another banger of a set brought to me by , who knows that the difference between a deck that mimics and a deck that makes.

If tarot can’t get us out of this, nothing can, so it’s time to double down on the knowledge of the ancestors.

How did they deal with the Fools who forgot that they were out here to evolve? If the Fool is still shilling the same s**t they left with, they did not complete the assignment. Grade F. No extra credit. Take the class again.

Remember that 9 of Swords I was talking about last month? Well, we’ve moved onto the 10.

The 10 of Swords is about the ultimate surrender. It is going through the threshold of detachment a door that no one wishes for but one that ultimately comes as a release. A much-needed reprieve from a responsibility to others’ opinions, behaviors, influences.

I hope you’re signed up for the Notes from the Wild Edge newsletter. I don’t sent out emails often, but when I do, they are about things like the 10 of Swords.

And the Aztecan tarot deck, on loan from ! It is called Tarot Yohualli Ehecatl Deck, and it is one of the most beautiful tarot decks I have ever seen. Expertly crafted. Rider Waite-informed but Aztec-centered. Thoroughly thought out. Available on Etsy.

Reflecting on an amazing year for my little tarot company. I started out on Zoom, but this year, 95 percent of my readings were in person. At parks, in people’s homes, on restaurant patios, at Barton Springs.

I read for individuals and couples and bachelorette parties and birthday gatherings and traveling families who wanted something special to do in Austin.

This get-together was a cookbook release party for , hosted by at , where the talented took these great pics that capture some of the joy I feel doing these readings. Even if I only have 15 minutes with someone, we can have a beautiful conversation about something going on in their lives, as informed by whatever cards they pull.

I never dreamt that this is how I would be spending some of my Wednesday and Saturday nights, but here I am!

My last official tarot reading of the year!

What a gift to bring this practice to folks who want to know more about themselves. I learn something new in every single reading.

In this one, at one of my favorite little spots on SoCo, the lesson was that even though I’m very clear that I don’t predict the future, people might expect that from me. When that happens, I get to hold a loving boundary and say:

I can’t tell you your future, but I can help you create your future.

That’s the magic. ✨❤️✨

What a fun night reading tarot at the annual ball!

I read with a dozen beautiful humans over the course of the night, and we hit all the big notes. Grief was in the room. Ancestors, too.

Something special about this party: Hair stylists and aestheticians hold a special kind of space for their clients, day after day. They have a wisdom that was a joy to tap into as we pulled cards. I was reminded that salons are powerful places of transformation!

I also had my aura photo made by , which captured the vibe of the night quite accurately.

Thanks for the invite! 😍⚡️💖💫✨
