This was a tough read today. Tough because I know my grandparents never had the chance to grow old on their land, among their trees, among their people and a culture they knew. They were forced to leave all they knew. Forced to find and make new family members in unfamiliar lands. Forced to learn a new culture and start fresh. They wouldn’t know it (but likely would not be surprised) that most of their children would never get the chance to set foot on their land. They might also not be surprised to know that their grandchildren pray for a day they could visit the land of their ancestors but sadly may only have that chance in Jennah (paradise) inshaAllah.
There is no tree with my name on it in Palestine. My tree was uprooted with my grandparents. Palestine didn’t get the chance to learn my name. But I know Falesteen’s name and my heart aches to be reunited with her. And so as so beautifully reminds us, we continue to learn her stories and tell her stories (and retell them again and again and again) so future generations will always know her name even though the world wishes us to forget her.
“The old will die, and the young will forget.”
Let us show our resistance and never forget ♥️

✨ Ramadan Spirit 🌙
These are only some of the donations that we were so fortunate to send out. Our deepest thanks to those who contributed to our fundraiser ♥️🙏🏻. May Allah allow this to way heavily on your scales. Ameen
Our first wave of donations went to the Women and Children’s shelter, Amal’s Women Shelter . Imagine the children receiving those special Ramadan packages this Ramadan 💕.
As more donations came in, we needed to expand our circle. These boxes are headed to low income families within our community. Again, thank you to all those who contributed to the fundraiser - especially during Ramadan.
May Allah continue allowing us to be a means for good always. Ameen

🌙 Ramadan Spirit 🌙
It’s beginning to look a lot like Ramadan 😏🎉
Decorating our home for Ramadan has been a family tradition for as long as my kids can remember. It’s pure joy for them. They don’t even moan when they drag up our bins from the basement.
On cue, my 12 year old sets the mood with anasheed playing while we carefully decide where each piece gets placed. Well, some of us carefully, others haphazardly 😏. But that’s okay. That’s when I allow Type A me to take a backseat because if my 10 year old thinks our suncatchers look best on the corner of our wall and not on our windows as they’re designed to be, then that is where that suncatcher shall live this Ramadan. ☺️
And my 6 six year old runs around searching for the bags of candy that I’ll eventually fill their advent calendars with. He’s more about the sugar than the decorating. 🍭🍬
And their excitement is all that matters at this moment.

Reflections...
In mental health, we’re trained in reflecting. We’re taught the importance of sitting with yourself and thinking deeply about your relationships. Your relationship with yourself just as much as your relationship with others.
Never did I realize how much Islam trained me in healthy mental health habits until I formerly began studying mental health.
Reflection is so important. But many of us struggle giving ourselves the time to sit and really think for a moment.
We’ve worked really hard to help both you and your children to take the time to stop and just think for a moment. Because we know if we do, we will always return back to Him as the All Loving and All Merciful.
May Allah swt always bless us with meaningful deep reflection that always returns us to Him. Ameen ♥️

💫 Free Printable - My Qur’an Goal Ladder 💫
Ramadan is the month of the Qur’an. As adults, focusing on this is relatively simple - even though we definitely find keeping our own momentum a challenge.
This fun ladder offers your children an exciting visual to see their own progress. You can discuss what their goal for the month can be. Then, decide on small attainable goals that can build up to their final goal.
It’s wonderful that this can be modified to your child’s level - so for younger children, it might mean reviewing their memorized surahs, or reading stories from the Qur’an, or even having the goal of completing a juz for the month.
Whatever the chosen goal, a child feeling ownership with their connection to the Qur’an as early on as possible will lead to a lifelong connection, InshaAllah.
Additionally, it guides our children to developing good habits with goal setting. By setting smaller goals, they are creating Specific Measurable Attainable Relevant Time-based (SMART) goals. This is a great tool for any goal setting.
These are the important ideals that can be found throughout our Ramadan Busy Box. Click link in bio to order one for your child.
This free printable can be found in our Freebies section where we will be adding goodies for all of you. Please share and spread widely!

Right about this time of the year, I’d be scouring the internet for all sorts of ideas and crafts to keep my kids entertained and busy during Ramadan. On top of that, I’d be creating a list of important, relevant points I’d want to cover during the month.
So this year instead of just prepping for my kids, we decided to share it with all of you, so we can all be ahead of the game this year 💕.
The Muslim Busy Box made it so much easier to get ready this year. My 6 six year old can’t wait to get his hands on these activities! I’ll add a pair of new pajamas (because he loves pajamas!) and a few chapter books as he now is finding great joy in becoming an independent reader.
What are some of your favorite recommendations for Ramadan pajamas?
Any great book recommendations for a book loving 6 year old?

We are beyond excited to announce the SECOND book that will be part of this year’s Ramadan busy box! The story of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) written by Humera Malik. One of the reasons we loved this book for Ramadan is the format-30 stories for 30 nights; what better Ramadan routine than spending a few minutes each day learning about our beloved Prophet?
You’ll see throughout the box that what we try to emphasize is that the path to success for a Muslim is more about the small, yet consistent acts that we do each and every day rather than the grandiose acts that happen once in a lifetime. Ramadan is all about building habits that last beyond it and we hope that this book will spark a love of learning in our young ones. ⭐️ 🌙 🕌 ✨ 🕋

All the things we want to teach our kids but so little time....
Managing it all is so hard. Somehow the days go by so slowly yet we find ourselves searching for hours at the end of the day just so we can get through our checklist.
This year has certainly been tough on so many levels 💕. Let’s let Ramadan be a time we can reset and refresh as parents and as young ones.
You do so much and so many rely on you. Let Ramadan busy box help take off some of the load. Be kind to yourself 💕
*pictured are just a few of the dua that come along in your box so your young one always has them at reach 💕

Ramadan Journey 🌙...Connecting to iftar...
How do we get our little ones feel connected to iftar especially when they’re not fasting alongside us. Creating a placemat helps get them excited while also doubling as beautiful keepsake.
Swipe to see my own kids placemats made years ago, stained and cherished. These still come out proudly every Ramadan. Being part of the tradition helps bring so much more excitement to little and big hearts alike 💕.
