Businesses who ignore security.

What's the difference right? It's just cyber security..

It's about the intent of the business owner.

Businesses go into market to turn profit. Its an means to an end.

Businesses will do it without prioritizing security. It can be the end.

If you only secure your business because you have to.

As much as I want to agree with you...Absolutely Wrong!

When hackers find websites with no security controls easier than usual they take over what they come for, then they hold for ransom.

Just focusing on the brand and income isn't a recipe for continued success.

You have to find out what they want, then build a security plan around it. Don't make your website hacker friendly.

Most brand's page(s) has their content and products that's being promoted.

Your platforms are NOT

Rather than a long, drawn out story of brand success, so your brand won't be stopped by one cyber attack, put together a plan on what needs to protected.

Here’s a good place to start:

Think about what data you need to protect. What would happen if your personal or customer information was compromised?

Visualize the before and after when security measures are put in place.

The best online companies understand the importance of this. The most successful brands prioritize cybersecurity.

I haven't done this before, but I'll tell you a personal story:

Before I became cyber security savvy over 10+ summers ago I used to get compromised it seemed like every couple of months.

I couldn't understand why or how this could happen.

I remember thinking, "What is it going to take to get to the source of the problem"

Then I realized, I am the PROBLEM.

For example, I would click on unfamiliar links on emails, use same passwords for years and for different platforms.

I even accidentally gave my information away in a phishing attack, which compromised my bank account.

The benefit to all this is that I learned from my experiences, became a Senior Cyber Security Engineer and try to simplify a complex digital world in order to secure what you work so hard for.

Especially in cybersecurity.

The hackers could care less what the owner think is a immoral act. They only care about what what THEY want.

A secure business is the one that have protective measures in place.

The days of “business as usual” of business owners and influencers are over.

That is why cyber security awareness is key; it will allow you to collaborate with others without fear of hacking, protect your business against attacks, and also reduce human errors. They will be more proactive in maintaining your cybersecurity. As a result, you reduce your chances of being breached, which will cost you a lot of money. Nobody wants that, do they? Raising awareness about cybersecurity is vital. Nobody can completely eliminate all threats and risks. But you try to lower it. Don’t be gullible, and add some cyber security!
