Exciting news! I am honored to announce that I’ve been selected by the Aldrin Foundation to participate in the LiftOff Summer Institute 2026: Moon to Mars.

This summer, I’ll be heading to Houston for a week of intensive collaboration with outstanding educators and the scientists and engineers leading the charge in space exploration. I am incredibly grateful to the Aldrin Foundation, the Center for Space Research, and my leadership at RYSS and RYSS Brownsville for supporting this opportunity. I can’t wait to bring these "out of this world" insights back to my students!

Nature's tiny architects at work! 🏗️ Check out these praying mantis nymphs hatching from their ootheca (egg case). It’s amazing how this papery structure protected them all winter long!

Question: How do you think the mother mantis knows exactly where to build the egg case so her babies have the best chance of survival when they hatch? 🧐

It’s National Observe the Weather Day! ☀️⛈️ We spend 90% of our time indoors, but today is the day to look UP. Meteorology is just physics in action on a massive scale. Whether you’re watching a front move in or just admiring some Cirrus clouds, the sky is always telling a story.

October 6th: Space Junk

The space around Earth is getting crowded! There are an estimated 500,000 pieces of space junk, mostly from fragments of old rockets and satellites, orbiting our planet.
