“I started training muay thai a year after moving to Austin as a way to lose weight. (I've lost like 40ish lbs). I always loved watching combat sports, but there was no muay thai where I lived in Oregon. The first class I took I couldn't even make it through the warmup without being gassed, but I just kinda kept showing up. I started to lose weight and becoming more dedicated. Started sparring and clinching (mostly unsuccessfully) and just realized I love this s**t. Coach Alex asked me to help out with some of the beginners holding pads and stuff and I realized I kinda loved that as much as I loved training.
My whole family is educators. Both my parents and 2 of my grandparents were teachers. I just truly enjoy getting to be a part of someone else's growth in the sport. To see people gain confidence. I'm not personally a confident person, so to get to help someone else gain that is super fulfilling. Outside of the gym, I'm a barber. I'm married to my high school best friend. (We didn't start dating till after high-school though.) I love video games, Dnd, art, punk & hard-core music. I just love art. And muay thai to me is the most honest physical expression of art there is. Everyone has their own style that shows a little of their personality whether they want it to or not. “

WHAT WE DO HERE!
Muay Thai - the main attraction. The authentic art of 8 limbs, taught by a battle tested and proven head coach, our Muay Thai program is a total striking system. We combine bag classes, partner drilling, and sparring classes to deliver the best striking program possible
Combatives - martial arts for self defense! Combining Muay Thai with elements of judo and karate, this program is focused on teaching real world skills to protect yourself against edged and impact weapons, as well as the unarmed assailant.
Strength & Conditioning - Fight strong! Pick up heavy weights, move fast, become impossibly fit and more competitive in the ring. This program uses barbells, kettlebells, dumbbells, and bodyweight work to make you stronger, faster, more powerful, and an all around better martial artist.
We offer all of these programs at the Warrior Family Gym in pursuit of our goal of training the best martial artists in Austin. Won’t you join us?

Muay Thai ATX is hosting our first sparring and barbecue event - A Spar-B-Que! Come for fun rounds in the ring or on the bag, then treat yourself to some delicious barbecue, courtesy of Smokin’ Brew-B-Q
The event is free, but we are accepting donations to help send the Warrior Family Fight Team to Arizona to compete in the US Muay Thai Open Tournament.
So join us on Saturday, March 19 for a day of sparring, brisket, and fun, and then wish the fight team good luck!
