Drumwithsimon Hi, My name is Simon! Who wants to learn how to groove? Hi everyone, my name is Simon. It was such a crazy long road trip. They were everything to me. Austin TX.

I was born in a town called Pleasanton, in California, and lived there for the first 7 years of my life. In the 8th year of my squeaky new life, the craziest traveling experience ever began with our family deciding to move all the way to Dallas, TX. I remember sitting in the passenger seat of my dad's semi-truck, thinking about how awesome he is to be able to handle such a big machine like it was

a Toyota Corolla. After a year of living in the scorching heat of Texas, my mom had decided that we would take a 2-week vacation all the way over to South Korea. It was the most awesome 2 weeks of my life. We were going to amusement parks, eating crazy traditional foods (pig intestines, chicken feet, etc.), and trying our very best to communicate with the people around us. After 2 weeks had passed we were told that our trip would be extended for an undecided amount of time. We (the kids) were beginning to miss our father and our best friends, constantly having dreams on a regular basis about seeing and spending time with them. This was very hard on us because we still had some hope of returning home. By the time we hit the second year, we had mostly given up and realized that this was to become our new home. Our friends in South Korea were mostly Japanese, so as you can imagine, my brother and I were very quick at picking up their Language. We lived with a large group of people and slept in enormous rooms with all of them. This had an immensely positive impact on my life because I was beginning to develop a sense of respect for others. We stayed there for 8 years until my sister had taken an amazingly responsible step towards her future, and decided that she must think about her education. When she was only 18 years old, she moved back to the US, passed her GED like it was nothing, and attended a community college in Ashland OR. Eventually, she was receiving top grades at Oregon State University. Meanwhile, my brother and I were learning skills that were more on the practical spectrum, such as gardening, carpentry, lifting things that were more than twice our body weight, etc. At the same time, we were finding a genuine interest in Music. It gradually became something that we were undeniably passionate about, which was great, because we were able to drown out the fact that we were most likely never going home. It was the strict group of Musicians that inspired my dreams of becoming a Professional Drummer, Music Producer/Songwriter. I began this musical journey by playing simple beats on the Drums and naturally enjoying the undeniable fire building within. My brother started by playing guitar and writing songs from the heart almost right away. We were both so passionate, that it would frequently lead to conflict between us. After being inspired by watching my brother write music for almost a year, I decided to follow in his footsteps and begin my journey as a songwriter. This was what really sculpted me into the musician I am today. To broaden my knowledge as a Music Producer, I began by listening to various kinds of unknown music (Ambient, drone, electronica, indie rock, etc.), as these, for some strange reason, were the only genres of music that I was really interested in at the time.

12 years of living in South Korea and Japan had passed, and my brother and I had started a new daily ritual that we called “Music walks” or “wandering through our small town of rice fields and old people”. One day after a long “Music walk” my brother and I sat up on our favorite hill and had a talk. We decided that it was time to visit our dad. Seeing our dad after 12 years was the most unique, and awesome experience that we could have ever imagined. We stayed with him on his large property in an itty bitty town in far poo-poo Texas called Daingerfield. It was hot… and very lonely. I couldn’t explain how much of a toll it had on my social life, because I would rarely see anyone but the reflection of my own face in a mirror. After building a Recording Studio and practicing Music as passionate as ever, but still feeling very sad and alone, I decided to make the responsible decision and move to the most awesome city that I have ever been to. Now, I am very much ready to pursue this ongoing dream of music and share as much of my ability with the world as physically possible.
