Absolutely thrilled to share data from our pilot program! The Aware Educator demonstrated significant improvements in attention and awareness among participants. In our pilot study with 40 K-5 teachers in Queens, New York, we utilized the Mindfulness Attention Awareness Survey (MAAS) to measure the impact of our program.

Before the program, the average MAAS score for the group was 3.758.

After completing the program, the average score rose to 4.155.

To put this into perspective, research by Positive Psychology indicates that the average score for undergraduate students is 3.85, while Zen meditators score an average of 4.38!

Our results show a notable enhancement in mindfulness, bringing our participants closer to the level of experienced meditators. Book a 15-min call this week to learn about how our program can help your school! bit.ly/awarecall

When we eat food, we are very rarely thinking about the food itself. The process of eating a meal is usually in between the other parts of our day. It’s a gap between class, or activities, or events.

Mindful Eating, is the practice of being extremely intentional about each moment with our food.

One part is noticing the food itself with all of our senses: its color, its texture, seeing all it visually and appreciating the plate in this way. And then smelling the food as we hold it up to our mouth, appreciating the aromas. And then of course tasting every aspect of the food, is it sour, is it bitter, is it sweet? Is it crunchy?

When we really sit with the food itself, we can appreciate it in a whole new way. ☯️

Sharing this beautiful, powerful quote from the beginning lesson of our upcoming course for schoolteachers, "The Aware Educator":

“As a teacher I possess tremendous power to make a child's life miserable or joyous. I can be a tool of torture or an instrument of inspiration. I can humiliate or humor, hurt or heal. In all situations, it is my response that decides whether a crisis will be escalated or de-escalated, and a child humanized or de-humanized.”

You are not your thoughts. Our thoughts can often bring up feelings of guilt or shame for an endless number of reasons. No one can banish a thought from their mind, but we can observe it kindly, without judgment. Noticing your thoughts provides perspective and pulls you out of them.
