This photo takes me back to where it all began, my early days as a Pre-K teacher at Linda C. Lyons Head Start, Classroom G. A place full of wonder, imagination, and possibility. It was there that I first saw the magic of early childhood education come to life. The children led, inspired, and shaped everything.
Nearly 15 years later, that same magic lives on through Magnolia Education Consulting. 🖍️
Through every classroom, every connection, and every experience along the way, I’ve witnessed the incredible impact of early educators, creating nurturing, responsive, and meaningful spaces for our youngest learners. The work is foundational. It matters deeply.
I’m endlessly grateful for this journey… and it all started right here ✨
Now, I support directors and their teams in deepening this work, strengthening teacher-child relationships, building responsive learning environments, and growing practices that truly center children.
If you’re leading a team and ready to invest more deeply in this work, I’d love to connect!

🌸 Friday Reminder for Educators 🌸
Spring is here and so is the perfect opportunity to take learning beyond the classroom walls.
Fresh air, sunshine, and movement aren’t just “extras”—they are essential for student engagement, creativity, and overall well-being. Whether it’s reading under a tree, practicing math with sidewalk chalk, or exploring science through nature walks, outdoor learning creates meaningful, lasting experiences.
✨ This spring, challenge yourself to:
• Move at least one lesson outside each week
• Incorporate nature into your instruction
• Give students space to explore, wonder, and connect
When students learn in the natural world, they don’t just absorb content, they experience it.
Let’s make the most of this season. 🌿

March is Women’s History Month, and today we celebrate the powerful legacy of women in education. 🌸📚
For generations, women have been at the heart of learning, shaping minds, opening doors, and guiding communities forward. From teaching in classrooms and universities to nurturing wisdom within our homes, women have always been educators, mentors, and leaders.
They have helped raise generations of thinkers, caregivers, innovators, and changemakers. Their courage, knowledge, and dedication have built the foundation for the opportunities many of us have today.
This month, we honor the women who teach, advocate, inspire, and lead. Their work may not always receive the recognition it deserves, but its impact is undeniable!

✨ These last few months have been a whirlwind. ✈️
I’ve been traveling across the country conducting assessments, coaching, and gathering insight into teacher–child interactions and the kinds of experiences that truly deepen learning. ✏️
Every visit has reminded me how powerful early childhood education is, and how much it matters that these programs are well-supported and well-funded.
I’ve seen classrooms full of warmth, intention, and joy. And I’ve seen educators doing incredibly meaningful work: nurturing relationships, building trust, and laying the foundation for children’s lifelong learning.
✨ Quality early childhood education doesn’t happen by accident, it happens when we invest in our programs, our teachers, and our children!
I’m so proud of the educators who show up with heart every day. Their impact is immeasurable.

When a government shuts down, it reveals its true priorities. The closure of Head Start programs and cuts to SNAP aren’t just numbers on a budget, they’re meals lost, classrooms closed, and futures dimmed.
The harm being done to our communities is inexcusable.
The government shutdown is triggering a wave of closures of Head Start centers, leaving many working parents scrambling for child care and shutting some of the nation’s neediest children out of preschool.
Dozens of centers are missing out on federal grant payments that were due to arrive Nov. 1, meaning many centers will close.
The closures mean Head Start students — who come from low-income households, are homeless or are in foster care — are missing out on preschool, where they are fed two meals a day and receive therapy vital to their development.
