I can’t wait to see how they implement facial sculpting in their practices! It’s always fun to have a range of experiences and focuses in class because we learn so much from each other.

I learn so much from everyone too and it reminds me how much I can’t wait to get back to doing what I love this summer - more trainings!

Had a lovely time hosting these ladies (and pup!) from Hawaii for a private group certification in the Sun Up Skin attic 💕

Retreat week is always the best week of my year 💕

This one was especially powerful for me because it included so many amazing estheticians I have had the opportunity to interact with via social media and in online classes over the course of the last few years.

It was also our largest group yet and the energy was absolutely perfect. It was so magical to be in person with everyone and witness the connection and relationships being forged.

2024 has been a crazy year for me so far and while I was in this beautiful lake house with these amazing, strong women laughing and crying (and healing and vibing) I had so many moments where I was like, wait… is this my real life? I know feels the same!

The best people have come into my life because of my career… not just my because of my business, but all the stops along my journey as a practicing esthetician (and hairstylist!) and teacher. All I want to do is surround myself with nice people, and I’m so lucky that I get to do just that.

💜 Most of my current facial clients are healers - mainly estheticians, but also massage therapists and hairstylists.

💜 I have many current students who have followed on to take classes from my business after I taught them their first facials ever in esthetics school, helped them take their first client or sell their first product. Shout out to anyone who has been a follower since I taught hair… you are the OGs 😂

💜 Other current students are amazing estheticians that I have had the pleasure of attending trainings or retreats with, which I love to do because learning is literally my favorite thing.

💜 What amazes me the most though is how the perfect student or client seems to make their way to me through the internet… either from connecting on IG or word of mouth in a Facebook group or from other estheticians.

If you feel like the esthetics world (either on social media or because of social media) has become unhinged, you’re not alone.

If you feel like you are doing something wrong because you don’t fit in with the stereotypical “successful” esti crowd on social media… you are also not alone.

It’s really easy to buy into the narratives being shared with us over and over and over again - that’s how our brain works. But what you are experiencing is a cognitive distortion. Just because you see something over and over doesn’t mean it’s true…

Just because you see someone booked with 10 appts in one day doesn’t mean they are successful. Just because someone says they make 6-figures doesn’t mean you need to. Just because a celebrity made a skincare line doesn’t mean you need to bring it into your professional treatment space (you know who I’m talking about!!).

Doing ANYTHING to make money doesn’t make you successful… it burns you out and it is unsustainable. Posting every day on social media doesn’t make you successful either so stop listening to those coaches and Facebook groups and posting calendars and DO YOU BOO.

Normally I don’t love these types of posts because they really take the nuance out of things, but I was so inundated with the shame-posts about “skincare habits that suck” and “spooky skincare” and “wax your coochie” (the worst) that I couldn’t help it. It was making me sick to think about how unsafe clients must feel seeing that. And I just felt like… the rest of us, the ones who are sick of what this industry is turning in to, needed something too.

I am happy to discuss any of my opinions here if you have questions or want to share your experiences. I know sometimes we feel like the aliens of the industry out here trying to do things differently. And if you feel triggered… then maybe it’s shadow work time! ✌🏽👽👻

It’s finally happening! I swear for the last year I have been saying I’m going to blog more, email more, etc. and I’m finally at a place where I think we can make this a reality.

I have so many ideas saved that I want to talk about with the holistic (and holistic-curious) esthetics community. My goal is to share information freely, reversing the cycle of gatekeeping (and trauma) that keeps us from being able to connect and be in community with each other + the world in general.

In order for us to grow, we need to discuss our ideas with others in a safe place and Instagram just isn’t the environment for that type of nurturing conversation. In fact most of the world isn’t, which is why I think we are really creating an alternate reality here and hopefully shifting this messed up timeline we are stuck in.

We want to share ideas that help you to build a life and business you love. Ideas that society might think are 🤪 crazy 😝 or impossible - like not needing to be a pushy salesperson or take 8 clients a day to make $$. We want to help you redefine success, find really good classes to take, explore what it means to invest in ethical practices and we want to support you by sharing your offerings or business with the community.

This summer I had a few goals… spend time with my family + friends, have fun outside as much as possible, spend money on experiences instead of things, ignore my business a little while I embrace the sun and the outdoors. I wanted to be hot, sweaty and never wear a bra. I accomplished most of these things and I’m not gonna lie… I’m sad summer is coming to an end (but I will keep my no-bra stance moving forward).

I almost never take selfies, wear makeup or go anywhere in public… so I’ve been making an effort to document the fact that I do, in fact, leave the house in something other than pajamas.

I wanted to share them because why else do we take selfies??? Also, I have a ton of new followers so this is a great opportunity to say ✌🏽 hey!

This season gives me life - the sun, after all, gives us all life. I hope you enjoyed it too 🌞
