I received the Long Walks Waist Pack. It's not your typical f***y pack, though it doesn't look tactical because it isn't. It's covert and designed more for the EDC crowd but can definitely be used to conceal carry.

I have some Tatigami attachments for me to carry my Sig as well as add some EDC tools (knife, chemlights, medical supplies) in it.

At the moment, I've been able to successfully deploy my firearm effectively with the bag from the waisted position. It's definitely not as fast as my preferred appendix carry but again a different application.

Deploying from cross body is proving to be a bit of a learning curve that will require some repetitions

You can also add a small body armor plate in here as well.

Ultimatelt I appreciate the versatility of such a simple tool, and I believe it's good to have multiple carry options.

While traveling, I decided to read a book a fellow gun advocate, David Yamane (), a professor of sociology at Wake Forest University.

I had the opportunity to meet him a few years back during a trip of his in Texas and it was interesting to hear his journey into fi****ms.

I urge anyone who wants to learn more about gun culture from a different perspective to check out his book!

Let's talk flashlights. Like any tool mission dictates gear. Do you need a flashlight for the home, EDC, or tactical use?

If you conceal carry chances are you have a weapon light on your firearm. You don't always want to point your firearm in the direction of an unidentified target which is a good reason why having a primary flashlight on you is always useful.

Emergency scenarios are always a possibility so stashing an extra flashlight per family member in the home or car is good preparedness.

The Fenix PD35 Tac is a great tactical flashlight. 1700 lumens at its brightest, it also sports a grooved bezel for breaking glass or defensive purposes.

The Jetbeam RRT01 is a new addition. It has a rotary dial to adjust the 950 lumens. High candela and a Nichia bulb which emits colors more accurately.

Streamlights Microstream is very practical for EDC without all the bulk. 250 lumens which is ample for most everyday tasks.

There's other great brands out there. If you have any suggestions write them in the comments!

Low Light Training. How many of you had the opportunity to train with your weapons in diminished light settings?

One skill that isn't practiced as much as it should. Definitely take the time to do it when you can!

PSA: Any responsible firearm owner knows that one must clean your weapons after your range sessions.

You should also INSPECT your weapons for any sort of damage, malfunctions, or wear and tear on the weapon.

I was cleaning my G***k 19 and realized my trigger pin (I said firing pin in the video by mistake) was broken. I've had this G***k since 2017 and it has seen thousands of rounds so broken pins, springs, etc are bound to occur.

I'm glad it was caught because it could have caused issues if I was at the range or when I needed it to defend myself.

Again, the takeaway of this is to INSPECT your weapons after you use them. Shooting and training are all important but that means nothing if your tools don't work.
