Last week was an exciting one for our Cooking Camp campers.  It was a great partnership camp with the Edgerton Explorit Center.  Students learned from TLC Executive Chef John Boeder who is also a “Mad Scientist” at the Edgerton.  A few of the things the campers learned were knife safety, cleanliness/sanitation, kitchen safety, making cakes, decorating cakes, yeasted dinner rolls, banana bread, zucchini bread, making pasta from scratch, ragu sauce, making gummy bears, tempering/chocolate dipping, and finally the chemistry of cookies.  Plenty of fun and food to eat all week, and skills that will last a lifetime! 😁🍪

🚨 The Leadership Center is hiring an Interim Executive Director!

We’re looking for a strong, experienced leader to help guide The Leadership Center through an important 6-month transition.

This is an opportunity to make an immediate impact in leadership, operations, business development, financial oversight, fundraising, and community engagement while working alongside our team and serving the Aurora community.

📍 Aurora, Nebraska
⏱️ 6-month interim contract | 30–40 hours/week
🏠 On-site lodging available as needed
💰 Salary negotiable based on experience

Yesterday, we had the honor of hosting NPPD and over 50 area property owners at a public hearing to offer feedback on a proposed transmission line project between Aurora and Central City. We take great pride in being a place where our community members feel comfortable meeting for different types of events… oh, and we love to treat them to some tasty food (housemade cookies in this occassion)😉🍪
