Volunteers pick two tons of vegetables for local food pantries State Rep. Anna Moeller joined about 30 volunteers to pick two tons of vegetables for local food pantries.

Please save the dates! Harvesting food for friends, aka local food pantries that the people in our community rely on so much during this pandemic. You will have 3 opportunities to help.

1. Saturday, August 22, 10am-1pm.
2. Saturday, September 19, 10am-1pm.
3. October TBD

Location: Scott’s Vegetable Stand (U-Pick farm)

Details will be available soon. Great opportunity for a family outing that is safe and fun while helping others in need.

Chad Gope Ratsamy’s friend who works for Make A Wish Foundation has reached out to her after seeing Pong’s origami crane project.

Her request:

“I LOVE your post about the 1000 cranes. I’m searching for a group of volunteers willing to make 1000 cranes for one of my wish children. He is 14, has wished to go to Japan and has to wait until the crisis is over. I want to give him and his family some hope about his wish trip and his future as he is struggling. If you have any contacts or ideas please lmk. Likely reaching out to Japanese consulate tomorrow.”

We need to make 1,000 cranes by the end of May. Let’s do this together!

The paper can be purchased on Amazon and other online stores. There are many so many fun designs to choose from and they are very affordable. I can also give you some when my order comes next week.

Speaking of health, we are hoping that you are all practicing good social distancing because we want to see you all gain soon!

In the meantime, we are trying our best to do what we can to contribute to the wellbeing of the people we love and the community that we love. Please join our friend, Pong Sayasane, in her 1,000 paper crane origami project. Her goal is to make 1,000 cranes to distribute to people in nursing homes, frontline workers, and various healthcare facilities.
