Every summer presents an opportunity to reimagine your learning environment.
Creating a cozy, well organized space creates opportunities for the child to explore their classroom and to learn and find areas of interest in every corner.
As you get to know the children in your class and their interests, you can make intentional changes that will inspire every learner.

🦋 Telling children that boredom is good for them is like telling them broccoli is good for them. All the power is stripped away from them and resistance has been invited.

🦋 Instead, consider saying something empowering like- "You're telling me you are bored. Hmm... [then offer a choice] Would you like to sit here with me and do nothing or would you like to go and paint rocks? OR what other ideas do you have?"

🦋 Our job as a guide (parent or teacher) is not to rescue, cater, entertain, or fix feelings.

🦋 Our job is to be warm, present, compassionate, safe, regulated, understanding, calm, and equipped - and invite children to think!

🦋 Do you ever feel that you need to entertain and fix feelings to avoid discomfort (yours and/or the children's discomfort)?
