Remember to focus on best fit when having conversations with your teens about college applications and admissions.
Calling all family members & friends of teens! 📢
College admissions decisions are rolling out, and most students will know their status by the end of April. We all want to connect with the teens in our lives, especially those who are in the exciting time of college admissions. But we need to be really thoughtful about the questions we ask and the unsolicited advice we may give.
The pressure of college admissions is something we actively try to combat. We believe in some families and communities, there is way too much pressure put on teens about their college choices.
So, here are ways to reframe some questions and set up a discussion about college that's less stressful and more thoughtful.
We have more conversation starters here: https://mcc.gse.harvard.edu/resources-for-families/ethical-parenting-in-the-college-admissions-process
