The Seattle Times recently posted about Winter Hikes in the area. Check out these awesome opportunities! Many of them are actually on our travel path! Most are relatively easy to walk into and out of and aren't all day trails. Awesome!
Beat the winter blues on these lowland hikes not far from Seattle Usually snow-free, these Western Washington trails can have special appeal in the offseason. And when others have hung up their boots for the winter, there’s a good chance you’ll find solitude, even on popular trails.

Not only did we learn about, hike, and explore the Seattle area; but we also got to meet some of the wonderful people Seattle has to offer. Below, is a picture of Fred with King County Metro Transit driver Walter Westmoreland.
As we were returning to Northgate last Tuesday, we heard an announcement thanking everyone on the bus and saying that it would be the last time our driver was ever going to drive the 41 again; Walter would be retiring after more than 15-years behind the wheel. Many of the passengers waited as Walter got off to say thank you, but the bittersweet moment was when our group and those on the bus gave him a long round of applause.
Afterwards, we found out that Walter was a major in the USAF and he swears that he served under the famous General Westmoreland. Overall, it was an honor to meet Walter and to share in his retirement celebration. Thank you Walter for getting us (and many more) home safely!
ALL the pictures taken by Briella Henderson with the IMSA camera are now uploaded! They can be found under "Albums" on the Spring Break Seattle page.
