Let the school year begin! Some of our horticultural students hopped in to disassemble the 36’ long crate that held the new poly carbonate roofing material for our attached greenhouse! Sometimes learning does come from a box 🙃

🐝We are looking forward to a great 2026-2027 school year! At Open House we passed out information about National Farm to School Month held in October. However, starting the year by eating breakfast and lunch in the cafeteria is a great way to start the year!
⁉️Did you know that the number of times you eat in the cafeteria in october is directly tied to the funding for farm to school funding? That means more minnesota Minnesota Grown🫑 🍎🫐🫛🌽🥕🧀🍞🧈🍔🥗

We are so excited to host this! Help stuff the container for Mesabi East students and teachers to have an amazing year!

Here at ME3C we use this great resource with our 6th grade students. Other Mesabi East teachers also utilize the resource as it is a free, custom magazine for grades K-6 available to all teachers and students! Each AgMag issue aligns with Minnesota academic standards, and there are also free lesson plans for each edition to seamlessly integrate into your curricula! AgMags provide a unique piece for students to engage with beyond their typical textbooks and materials. The print magazine and digital content feature real-life Minnesota farmers and businesses, highlighting people and organizations that kids can feel a connection to.

🔍Update as of July 7, 2026 we are still looking for 26 more pen pals!

🌻Agriculture is teaming up with 🎨Art to instruct cursive handwriting as part of their 6th grade curriculum.
📝Cursive handwriting is beneficial for hand-eye coordination, cognitive development, memory retention, fine motor skills, and creativity! All of these life skills that current employers are looking for.

THANK YOU! The 9th season of the Mesabi East Environmental Education Center Plant Market has come to a close.
🌺We appreciate your continued support each year!
💯All profits from the Plant Market go directly back to the students of Mesabi East. This allows the program, classes and new supplies to continue operating.
🥶While this season was a chilly start, summer heat definitely ended our season!
❤️A BIG shout out to our volunteers that help us clean out the greenhouses and get everything ready for fall!

We are so thankful for our community businesses!

Quick reminder that today is the final day of the Mesabi East Environmental Education Center ME3C plant market! 🌼🌿

We stopped by this morning and ended up bringing home two more beautiful hanging baskets… including this one hanging here at the pizzeria now. 😅

They’ve had a great selection this year and it’s a fun way to support a local organization while getting ready for summer.

They’re open until 1pm today for the final market day! 🙌🏻
