BIG NEWS!

Last week, our Aurora High School Music Department became the proud new owners of a Kawai Parlor Grand Piano! This piano was a very generous donation made by Wayne and Diana White in honor of their sister-in-law, Mrs. Dara White. Dara was a long-time resident of Aurora, and served on the Aurora Board of Education from 1981-1984. Dara and her husband, Dr. Russell White (Wayne's brother), were well-known in the Aurora community for hosting parties in their home, sharing music and art with others, and supporting the school and community in numerous ways.

Russell passed in 2020, and Dara has since moved to a senior living facility. They have donated this piano to the Aurora Music Department to honor Dara’s commitment to education, music, and opportunity. It is her hope that it can benefit generations of Houn’ Dawg musicians for years to come.

We would like to extend our utmost gratitude to the White Family for blessing our Aurora music students with such a wonderful instrument. Thank you!

Today Aurora Chorale earned an Exemplary (I) rating at MSHSAA Large Ensemble Festival. I am proud of the work these musicians put into the process and the Gold is well-deserved!

We celebrated with some Steak n Shake and mini-golf! Some of us even got a hole-in-one!! 🎶🏌‍♀️🎶
