The Fine Arts Department is so proud of all of our artists, senior artists and all the hard work they’ve done this year! It’s definitely the beginning of the end round here with seniors checking out and taking their artwork and we wish them all the very best.

The Art Department was so happy to honor our outstanding senior artists at the Black & Gold Award ceremony! We’re really proud of them & we know they will continue to succeed.

3D printing is going well- high school innovators in action! I can’t believe we’re almost in May!

Congratulations to all our students who had work in the Neville women’s art club student show and competition! We’re so proud of them!

Here’s a neat story about a stepping stool, Jim (a neighbor of one of our teachers) & Metea Valley Art Department!

Jim‘s been through a lot lately. He is a Fire Commissioner in a small town south of Metea. Jim lost his wife of 55 years, Pam, earlier this year. He is a very generous and kind person!

Well, the Art Department-specifically drawing, has been in desperate need of a sturdy stool for students to stand on when we do our live-draws in the classroom.

I commissioned Jim to build a stool. Not only did Jim have the stool built in 2 days but he refused to take a dime for it, included carpet on top so students don’t slip, painted it, put rubber pads on the bottom of the legs so it won’t slide on tile floor and added ropes on the sides so it’s easier to handle!! Then left it on my front porch for me!

Our students were thrilled to have it as is the Art Department. Over 100 students signed a big THANK YOU card! Metea Valley is so grateful!!
