Does inducing labor increase the likelihood of a C-section? A new retrospective review from researchers at the University of Colorado Anschutz College of Nursing found that labor induction was not associated with a higher risk of cesarean birth among more than 7,300 midwife attended births across three Colorado hospitals. The study also found that pregnancy beyond 41 weeks—not induction itself—was associated with higher C-section rates.

After spending nearly 10 years unable to walk without assistance, Colorado resident Lynn Montgomery-Haga is walking freely again. Lynn was the first patient enrolled in a CAR T-cell clinical trial that researchers hope will transform treatment for stiff person syndrome.
Led by Amanda Piquet, MD, director of the Autoimmune Neurology Program, the clinical trial could lead to the first FDA-approved treatment for stiff person syndrome and the first CAR T-cell therapy ever approved for any autoimmune disease.
The trial results have been promising, with eight of 12 participants who relied on wheelchairs or walking aids regaining independent walking during testing.

researchers have published a proof-of-concept study demonstrating that injectable semaglutide may offer meaningful reproductive benefits for women with polyendocrine metabolic ovarian syndrome (PMOS), formerly known as PCOS.
“Women with PMOS frequently face a frustrating choice between treatments that target reproductive symptoms and those that address metabolic health,” says Melanie Cree, MD, PhD, first author of the report. "Our early findings suggest injectable semaglutide may have the potential to improve both."
