Congratulations to the IMSA Science Olympiad team on an outstanding performance at the State Tournament! The team placed 8th overall and earned three state championships.
State Champions:
Sasha Bystrukhina ’27 and Amelia Weingarz ’27 — 1st place in Water Quality
Avery Lau ’27 and Adam Park ’28 — 1st place in Engineering CAD
Avery Lau ’27 and Atharv Kanchi ’27 — 1st place in Code Craze
Additional top finishes included:
Andrew Zhu ’26 and Nathan Handjojo ’26 — 2nd place in Chemistry Lab

With AP exams and end-of-year projects in full swing, students took a break to enjoy Field Day! From relay races to petting zoos, today was a chance to recharge and enjoy the moment.

Congratulations to Malyada Medikundam ’27, who earned First Place in the Junior Category of the 16th Judicial Circuit’s Law Day Essay Contest.
On Friday, May 1, Judge Keith Johnson presented the award during a special ceremony, alongside Paul Steele from the Kane County Bar Foundation Board. Judge Johnson highlighted Malyada’s strong writing and critical thinking skills in applying legal concepts.
Thank you to the Kane County Bar Foundation for generously supporting the contest and celebrating student civic engagement.

Team HIALO scored another first-place win!
Olivia Pan ’27, Isaac Lee ’27, and Matthew Park ’27 earned first place at Olivet Nazarene University’s Createur Pitch Competition with their product HIALO, a diagnostic headband that detects concussions in real time when worn inside helmets. This marks the team’s second top-tier competition win, highlighting potential for their innovation in sports health technology.
