Homestead students and staff spent the morning checking out books on the Aurora Public Library Bookmobile and reading on the lawn. Daily independent reading is a priority and goal for all of our students! We hope students can keep up daily reading habits over the summer. Field Day Fun

Homestead had their annual Alumni walk on Friday, May 15th. Congratulations to the Class of 2026! We are so Proud of you! Once a Husky, Always a Husky 🐾 💚 💙

Our (first annual!) Heritage Night was a tremendous success. Presenters and guests totaled well over 100 attendees. The cultures of India, Mexico, Palestine, Romania, Brazil, Pakistan, Israel, Colombia, Nepal, China, Moldova, South Korea, Mayan, and Oneida were beautifully represented through pictures, traditional clothing, storytelling, and—of course—food.

A heartfelt thank you to the Equity and Rightful Presence Committee, especially the Heritage Night team: Roxie, Jill, Janie, Amy, Sam, Karen, and Zoe, for their thoughtful planning and dedication. We also extend our appreciation to the many additional staff members who helped with setup and support throughout the evening.

Culture and Heritage Night at Homestead

Just a reminder—our event will take place on April 30th from 6:00–7:30 PM at Homestead, and all families are welcome!

We already have many participants, so come ready to explore and learn about cultures from around the world. There will be food samples, traditional clothing, fun activities, and heritage displays representing many different countries.

It’s always exciting to celebrate the languages, cultures, traditions, and experiences that make our school community so special, while learning more about the world around us.

We hope you’ll join us—everyone is welcome!

Our 4th Annual STARS Family Night was a great success!

Families enjoyed creating crafts, Gear It Forward Robotics demonstrations, and motor/sensory activities. Thank you to our Oswego and Aurora Police Departments who had officers and social workers on site to provide safety information to families. Our community resource table was filled with information from local businesses and organizations about camps, classes, and more. There was truly something for everyone to enjoy during this fun filled night!

Seeing our families connect with each other over pizza, cookies, and snacks warmed our hearts! Special thanks to Maciano’s Pizza & Pastaria in Aurora for generously donating pizza. Community partners like Maciano’s make a difference and we greatly appreciate their continued kindness and generosity! Thank you for helping us bring families together!

We are excited to welcome you to Murphy Junior High for the upcoming school year! Join us on Wednesday, April 15th, from 6:00-7:00 pm to hear and learn more about Junior High, and to get answers to your questions about junior high life.

We understand how busy everyone can be! In the event you are unable to attend, we will be sure our presentations are shared with elementary buildings so you have access to them after our parent night.
