Aurora Central Catholic High School The OFFICIAL page of Aurora Central Catholic High School! Aurora Central Catholic was established by the Diocese of Rockford in 1968.

It was formed with the merger of Madonna High School and Roncalli High School. Originally, Aurora Central Catholic operated two campuses – the campuses of Madonna and Roncalli High Schools – on the east side of Aurora, Illinois. Aurora Central Catholic High School began in 1926 at Madonna High School - an institution designed to educate young women. In 1962, the legacy of Catholic education expanded with the opening of Roncalli High School to educate young men. In 1968, Madonna and Roncalli were merged by the Diocese of Rockford to form a regional Catholic co-educational school - Aurora Central Catholic High School. For nearly 25 years, as the metropolitan area grew, students shuttled between two campuses and athletic facilities. In 1995, Bishop O'Neill's dream of building a new facility to better meet the needs of the next generation of students was realized with the opening of a new campus. Today, more than ninety years after the first students entered the doors, our school community continues to be shaped by the same vision that inspired the opening of Madonna High School. "Aurora Central Catholic High School exists to provide a Christ-centered education for young men and women, preparing then to adapt and contribute to the Church and our ever-changing world." The commitment to continuous improvement takes root in the vision and philosophy of our school, and bears lasting fruit in the positive impact Aurora Central Catholic graduates make in their communities, families and careers.

Lord God lookdown upon us! Look at this city, this island. Look upon our families.
Lord, you were not without a job, you were a carpenter, you were happy.
Lord, we have no work.
The idols want to rob us of our dignity. The unjust systems want to rob us of hope.
Lord, do not leave us on our own. Help us to help each other; so that we forget our selfishness a little and feel in our heart the “we”, the we of a people who want to keep on going.
Lord Jesus, you were never out of work, give us work and teach us to fight for work and bless us all.

So much is going on at ACC this week, so use this long weekend to plan out your activities. Clear your calendar for Sunday, September 13th! Everyone should RSVP (required - click the link below) to the Memorial Mass at 11am, honoring Bob Stewart, with a reception to follow. Come back at 5pm for dinner and fun for the entire family! Watch ACC students compete in a volleyball tournament, bring your children to play games sponsored by the ACC Student Council, and grab dinner at our food trucks. Then, we'll end the night with the ACC Sports Booster's Bonfire at 8pm. Looking forward to a great day with the Charger Nation!

Welcome to The Charger REPORT!

At ACC, our faith is put into action every day through a variety of spiritual offerings. Students participate in monthly all-school Masses, optional Tuesday and Thursday services, annual class retreats, and yearly theology courses. Whenever Fr. Bailey is on campus, we offer confession, while students also take part in Bible study and leadership formation.

We are enjoying our Charger Café! Be sure to stop by on Fridays to grab coffee and refreshers made by our student baristas.

Teachers are obsessing over engaging, hands-on activities. In Mrs. Koeberl’s math class, students built cup pyramids using only rubber bands to maneuver the pieces.

Our girls are hard at work playing tennis, cross country, flag football, cheer, dance, golf, and volleyball. Come out to a game or match to support them!

Chargers are recommending plenty of fun ideas for the long weekend:
Mrs. Bartolucci: Catch a White Sox game.

Geni Carrizales ('29): Explore downtown Chicago while you're in the city.
Sarah Barnes ('28): Go shopping with friends.

Whatever you decide on for treating yourself during the three-day weekend, Chargers, we hope it is restful and fun!

ACC E-Learning Day – Wednesday, September 2

Due to the forecasted high temperatures and heat advisory, and out of an abundance of caution, ACC will operate on an e-learning schedule tomorrow, Wednesday, September 2.

Students are required to remotely attend each scheduled block, with cameras on, and should be prepared to follow the specific instructions provided by their teachers.

Please have students check their school email and Google Classroom for any additional information from their teachers.
