We are excited to announce the first TL Stories event of the 2023-24 school year! On September 21, we will host Kati and Ana, Teacher Leaders who opened their schools in Florida and Colorado last year.
Read below to learn more about the Teacher Leaders and their schools:
Founded by Kati and her partner, Tania, Rain Lily Montessori is a place-based and nature-based primary Montessori program for the children of Fernandina Beach, on Amelia Island, Florida. Rain Lily is committed to inclusion -- providing multiple tuition tiers and welcoming Florida scholarships and educational support funds. Rain Lily is also working towards becoming one of the first certified Nature Explore Classrooms in Northeast Florida. Kati is excited to continue growing a Montessori school that feels like home for more people on Fernandina Beach, a small coastal community she has grown to love.
Flame Lily Montessori is a primary program co-located with Project Worthmore, an Aurora nonprofit serving Denver area refugee families. Currently, the majority of Flame Lily students are from refugee and/or immigrant families from countries including Rwanda, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and Myanmar. Ana encountered many challenges in the process of opening Flame Lily, including finding a suitable location, navigating shifts in partnership arrangements, and dealing with multiple construction delays. Each difficulty she faced became an opportunity for growth and learning; in particular, she learned to find her voice and assertiveness while navigating the predominantly male-dominated field of construction.
Join us on September 21 at 6:30 pm EST for an evening of inspiration. Register below or in our bio.
