In the Fall of 2013, Maine Instrument Flight and the University of Maine at Augusta entered into a partnership to offer, for the first time in the state of Maine, the opportunity to obtain a Bachelor's degree and become an FAA certified commercial pilot under one program! AIRCRAFT CHARTER

Today we welcomed two groups from GEAR UP Maine to MIF! ✈️ They got a behind the scenes look at aviation by learning the basics of line operations, exploring aircraft maintenance, and testing their skills in the simulator. We’re happy to say they proved they could land the plane! Thanks for spending the day with us and learning more about the different sides of aviation!

Today we welcomed UMA’s newest class of future pilots for Private Pilot Orientation!✈️

Students spent the day meeting their instructors, getting familiar with the building, and learning what to expect from flight training so they can feel prepared and confident from day one.

We’re so excited to have this group with us for the next four years as they complete their bachelor’s degrees, progress through flight training, and grow into the next generation of pilots. Welcome to MIF! We can’t wait to see where the next four years take you. 🎓✈️

Big news for Maine Instrument Flight!

We have ordered six new Cirrus TRAC10 aircraft!

For us, this is about much more than adding airplanes to our fleet. It is an investment in our students and in the future of professional flight training here in Maine.

The TRAC10 was designed specifically for flight training. Its modern Perspective Core flight deck by Garmin®, three-seat configuration, and integrated safety systems will give our students the opportunity to build strong habits, learn alongside one another, and become comfortable with the technology they will encounter throughout their aviation careers.

We are excited to take this next step with , and we cannot wait to welcome these six aircraft to Maine. There is much more to come, and we look forward to sharing the journey with you!
