The ultimate career goal: Return to where it all began and inspire the next generation.
For Dr. Austin Shull, that dream is now an award-winning reality!
Recently named Professor of the Year at , Dr. Shull is bringing the expertise he gained at Augusta University back to the halls where his journey began.
During his time in the Biochemistry and Cancer Biology PhD program at AU, Dr. Shull trained under the mentorship of Dr. Huidong Shi. His dissertation research focused on how DNA āsuper enhancersā drive the overactivity of genes involved in immune signaling and metabolism, helping cancer cells survive and grow.
From the labs of Augusta to the classrooms of Presbyterian, we are proud to have been a part of this journey.
