Today is National Drop Everything And Read Day, a special reading celebration to remind and encourage families to make reading on a daily basis a family priority. Book Adventure is a free online program that gives students in grades K-8 even more reasons to discover the joys and rewards of a good book.

A tip for staying involved at your kid's school, volunteer. An occasional volunteering gig gives you insight into the school and a chance to see your kids in their natural environment. It’s not spying, it’s being present. Collate mailings, make copies and take attendance.
