Bright Futures Augusta Bright Futures Augusta partners with USD 402 to meet student needs through community resources.

We remove barriers to education so every child can focus on success. Bright Futures Augusta works within the Augusta School District to connect student needs with existing community resources. The Bright Futures model brings together businesses, human service agencies, faith-based organizations, and parent groups and partners them with schools in a way that helps them to quickly and efficiently meet students’ basic needs – often within 24 hours. This enables students and teachers to focus on education and achieving success. Bright Futures Augusta works to create an environment where education is valued and responsibility for student success is shared. Bright Futures operates under the belief that when a community invests its time, talent, and treasure into its schools, students are more likely to stay in school through graduation, have a higher degree of self-worth and confidence, and set and reach goals for the future. In turn, these students grow up to be better neighbors, quality employees, and impactful leaders in their communities.

Many people volunteered their time helping with our Back To School Bash in August. Churches handing out water, helping set up and take down, providing cotton candy and popcorn, working in the school supply areas. We saw you and appreciated your help!

Several community members volunteered time with the Caring Center…sorting and packaging and working the day of the event to ensure that all those who attended could have access to donated clothing. We thank you for your time!

Friends and family helped take pictures, made a great photo op area, helped direct people to the various areas, made announcements, and worked getting kids to the salon for haircuts. You helped things run smoothly!

I know there are many more volunteers who helped! It took a village and YOU showed up. We couldn’t have done it without you. Thanks Augusta.

An Augusta family with three kids who attend USD402, suffered a loss yesterday when their home caught on fire. They will have to rent a place, buy new furniture, most household items, clothing and replace many personal items. They need our community’s help! You can provide assistance to them by making a donation to Bright Futures which will be given to the family. Please consider giving through VENMO or a cash donation mailed to the District Office in care of Bright Futures at 2345 Greyhound Drive. Thanks so much for your help!
