Five days. Four nights. Everything you need on your back.

Our eighth graders spent five days and four nights backpacking through Pisgah National Forest, carrying what they needed, preparing meals, setting up camp, and depending on one another along the way.

Salt marshes, maritime forests, beach ecosystems, and marine life became our sixth graders’ classrooms during Trip Week! Building on what they learned last year, students took a closer look at how these systems connect: how a marsh feeds a food web, how a maritime forest holds a shoreline together, how one ecosystem depends on the next.

They came home with new knowledge, a few good stories, and sand still in their shoes.

Our fifth graders took Georgia history beyond the classroom during their trip to Savannah and Burton 4-H! From exploring Fort Pulaski and the Tybee Island Lighthouse to a dolphin cruise and hands-on environmental experiences, students encountered the history and natural environment of our state firsthand.

For our newest Middle School students, the trip was also about something bigger: growing in independence, strengthening friendships, and experiencing the adventure of learning together beyond campus.

Learning about Georgia is one thing. Standing in the places that tell its story is another.

Our Middle School students recently stepped outside the classroom for a week of adventure, learning, and time together. They had new experiences and moments with friends, Middle School Trip Week was one to remember!
