The College of Science and Mathematics would like to take a moment to congratulate Dr. Cliff Gardiner on his retirement this month. Dr. Gardiner has served Augusta University with distinction for 40+ years, 15 of which were at CSM. He began his time at CSM as the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs and continued playing a key role as an advisor to the college's leadership afterwards. His expertise, leadership, and good nature have always been appreciated and will be missed.

Congratulations to Dr. Angela Spencer for being recognized as this year's Distinguished Alumna for the College of Science and Mathematics, and also to Dr. Scarlett Timmons-Spangler for being recognized as CSM's Outstanding Young Alumna! Augusta University honored them and alumni awardees from other colleges during Alumni Weekend, running from April 25-27, 2025.

The CSRA viewed what was the last solar eclipse in the U.S. for the next 20 years 04/10/2024

CSM's Physics Club put together an awesome eclipse watch event yesterday! Hundreds of people showed up, and the event got widespread local news coverage. Special shout out to our students for their interviews on air and for organizing the viewing alongside physics faculty members!

The CSRA viewed what was the last solar eclipse in the U.S. for the next 20 years It’s not often that the sun, earth, and moon are all aligned at the same time. In fact, it won’t happen again in the U.S. for the next 20 years; however, Monday, April 8th was that lucky day, and many were ready to see it happen.
