Jumpstart your manufacturing career at no cost!

Maine's community colleges just got a $5M federal grant that expands access to no-cost, short-term training that prepares students to work at Maine's small- and mid-size manufacturers!

What classes? Machining, fabrication, welding, blueprint welding, manufacturing, advanced manufacturing, and quality assurance - and you can build from there.

Jump in when it works for YOU - the classes are being offered on a rolling bases about every four to eight weeks at Central Maine Community College, Southern Maine Community College, and York County Community College - Wells, Maine. Link in comments for details.

Great story by Mainebiz about expanded short-term healthcare training under a new partnership led by MCCS' Harold Alfond Center for the Advancement of Maine's Workforce.

Maine needs more skilled healthcare workers in a wide range of jobs, and we're doing everything we can - with 50+ healthcare partners - to meet that need!

“Long-term solutions are only possible if we work together.”

One- to two-year programs have been available for decades. The system is expanding short-term programs, taking weeks or months to complete, to move skilled workers into entry-level roles faster.

There's a reason this program is so popular and grads do so well!

Mechanized Logging Operations & Forest Trucking - MLOFT

The program is divided into two portions that alternate weekly. Students work to obtain their commercial driver’s license in the classroom, before switching over to operate mechanized logging equipment in the field.
