The official page of The Augusta Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, a nonprofit organization that provides community service throughout the world. We are thrilled that you have connected to the Augusta Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.-- home to nearly 200 dynamic women of vision and dedication to our sisterhood. was chartered on August 29, 1978. Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is a private, non-profit organization whose purpose is to provide assistance and support through established programs in local communities throughout the world. Founded on January 13, 1913 by twenty-two collegiate women at Howard University, the Sorority is currently a sisterhood of more than 200,000 predominantly Black college educated women. This includes over 900 chapters located in the United States, England, Japan (Tokyo and Okinawa), Germany, the Virgin Islands, Bermuda, the Bahamas, and the Republic of Korea. The major programs of the sorority are based upon the organization's Five-Point Programmatic Thrust: Economic Development, Physical & Mental Health, Educational Development, Political Awareness and Involvement, and International Awareness & Involvement. Today, we celebrate a Soror whose dedication, consistency, and commitment to excellence often happen behind the scenes but whose impact is felt throughout the Augusta Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

As our Financial Secretary, Soror Icyphine Welcher, is always going above and beyond to keep the books balanced, the records accurate, and the chapter’s financial affairs in order.

Her attention to detail, dependability, and willingness to serve are truly appreciated. She handles a tremendous responsibility with grace, integrity, and a genuine love for our chapter and our sisterhood.

Thank you, Soror Welcher, for being the one we can count on to make sure the numbers add up, the records stay straight, and our chapter remains financially organized and accountable.

Twenty-five years ago, September 11, 2001 changed our nation forever. Today we pause to honor the lives lost at the Pentagon, the World Trade Center, and in Shanksville, Pennsylvania, and to remember the bravery of the first responders and service members, including our own sorors, who answered the call.

We will never forget the actions of that day and the impact on our nation. We carry forward the memories of the lives lost, honoring their legacy through how we choose to live and serve.
