Greetings to All!!

It's time to start preparing for Homecoming 2019. This is a very special homecoming as we will be celebrating the 55th Anniversary of the founding and opening of our beloved T.W. Josey Comprehensive High School.

** Tailgating/Parade Entries **
The T.W. Josey Alumni Foundation, Inc. Program and Events Committee wants full participation from all of our alumni classes in Homecoming 2019. Beginning Tuesday, September 3rd, classes may begin purchasing tailgating areas and parade entries. The deadline to secure both tailgating areas and parade entries will be Friday, October 11th.

Please Note: Tailgating areas are on a first come first serve basis.

The tailgating map and parade entry packet can be found at http://josey.rcboe.org. Click clubs and organizations then go to alumni and Homecoming 2019.

Other events to be announced are as follows but are not limited: Wreath Laying Ceremony honoring Dr. T.W. Josey, Alumni Meet and Greet/Back Down Memory Lane; Alumni Basketball Game just to name a few. (Full calendar of events will be posted when it is complete).

** Back Down Memory Lane/Alumni Meet and Greet **
The T.W. Josey Alumni Foundation, Inc. Program and Events Committee invites all classes to participate in the "Back Down Memory Lane/Alumni Meet and Greet" event during Homecoming Week 2019. The event is scheduled to take place on Monday, October 21st from 5 PM to 7 PM at the James H. Roundtree Athletic Complex.

The purpose of this event is for all classes to gather up all of your T.W. Josey paraphernalia, pictures, memorabilia, etc. and set up a station representing your class and/or decade.

Each class will be given a table to display your items on for students, other alumni and guest to view and we all can reminisce and talk about the great times at Josey "back in the day".

If your class plans to participate please RSVP by sending an email to [email protected] so that we will know how many tables we will need to request. The deadline to RSVP will Friday, October 11, 2019.

Passing of a T.W. Josey Legend - Coach Lynn Brantley

Dear T.W. Josey Alumni,

We are saddened by the passing of Coach Lynn Brantley, retired educator and coach. Coach Brantley retired from T.W. Josey in 2007 after 38 years of service. She passed away peacefully this morning. Her legacy will forever live on at Josey.

Tis the season for graduations and class reunions. We will welcome our newest T.W. Josey Alumni at graduation on Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at 8:00 A.M. at the James Brown Arena This year reunion classes are those classes ending in “4” and “9” (1969, 1974, 1979, 1984, 1989, 1994, 1999, 2004, 2009, 2014) are asked to participate in graduation in the processional with the graduating Class of 2019. All other classes are more than welcome to join in the processional. However, we ask that all classes reunion and otherwise, if you plan to attend and participate please have a class representative send an email to [email protected] by May 17th so that your class can be included in the line up to be recognized.

Attire for graduation is ladies – white or cream dress or suits, men – dark suits. You are asked to assemble beginning at 7:00 A.M. PLEASE REMEMBER TO EMAIL [email protected] IF YOU CLASS PLANS TO PARTICIPATE!

We conducted a poll at the beginning of this year and the consensus was people rather celebrate everything next year for the 10-year reunion, so there will not be anything planned officially this year for '09. Reunion and next year homecoming will begin planning after homecoming this year. Let me know if you have any more questions. If you are interested in helping out please let Michael D Banks know.
