The Office of Student Life provides an opportunity for students and campus organizations to participate in a variety of activities such as cultural tours, museum visits, concerts and seasonal events. Activities vary from semester to semester depending upon the desires of the student body. Students are encouraged to participate in these activities to enhance and develop a meaningful college experience.

Starting a new semester always comes with a few "wait, how do I do this again?" moments. Good news: you don't have to sort it out on your own.

The Academic Success Office is hosting free Get Set For Fall drop-in days before the Fall '26 semester begins. Swing by this week or next and get help with:

- Setting up Brightspace and other tech
- Printing and going over your syllabi
- Meeting with a tutor, or booking a time to see one

No sign-up, no appointment needed. Just come as you are.

Where: Katz Room 33, Katz Library, Augusta
When: 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, Mon - Thurs, this week and next
Cost: Free for all UMA students

Interested in mental health, human services, advocacy, or making a difference on campus? Join UMA’s Mental Health & Human Services Club!

Open to all students, this club is a welcoming space to connect with peers, explore career interests, build leadership skills, and create meaningful change in our campus community.

Club members have helped bring ideas to life through:
• Guest speakers and career conversations
• Campus and virtual events
• Panel discussions with other student organizations
• Documentary screenings and discussions
• Educational and advocacy-focused programming

The club is currently looking for students interested in helping shape activities for the 2026–2027 academic year, including leadership opportunities on the executive board!

Whether you would like to attend occasionally or take on a leadership role, we would love to have you join us. Bring your ideas, interests, and enthusiasm as we plan another exciting year of programming and engagement.

Take a closer look at these fascinating organisms that feed us, heal us, and occasionally outsmart us.
In Mycology: Introduction to Fungi, UMA’s new fully online, 4-credit lecture/lab, you will study fungal diversity, structure, genetics, ecology, and importance to humans, and explore roles in human health, biotech, and the environment.

With a hands-on lab kit, web-based simulations, and photography, you will grow fungi and investigate fungi through lab work, data analysis, and case study.

JUS 306: Free Speech in American Law, History, and Culture traces the history and legal foundations of free speech, from landmark court cases to the free speech controversies of today.
