We had seven 4-H’ers return for Day 2 of the Sewing Workshop. They were eager to learn about many different types of fabrics. They also learned about the following: sewing patterns, pattern layout and pinning, measuring, marking , and cutting. They participated in a cutting exercise. The instructor, Ms. Carolyn is moving fast and they are keeping up! Tonight is the final night. Let’s see what they will complete in the sewing class!

The 2nd 4-H Sewing Club Workshop is up and running strong! On night 1, eight 4-H’ers
-identified common sewing tools and learned their uses.
-demonstrated basic sewing safety
-learned to thread a hand needle
-practiced a running stitch and back stitch
-practiced hand sewing on fabric
- and made a square pocket.

4-H was at Pendleton King Park today selling Country Meat Snack Sticks and playing the Fishing Frenzy game with visitors to the Master Gardeners plant sale.

We had 20 4-H'ers and their families at Fishing Club this morning. The fish were not biting good but we had a great time together. 🎣🍀🎣🍀

A New 4-H Garden Club Year Is Growing! 🍀

Saturday marked the first meeting of the 2026–2027 Augusta-Richmond County 4-H Garden Club at the Belle Terrace Community Garden, and we had a great start with more than a dozen young gardeners joining us!

Our members were introduced to the garden, learned their way around the space, explored some of the plants and crops growing on site, and got a closer look at the tools and resources we use to care for the garden. Most importantly, they began learning that gardening is about much more than growing food—it’s also about responsibility, teamwork, curiosity, and caring for our community.

A BIG thank you to the families who came out and helped us kick off another season of learning by doing!
