We hope you'll join us next Friday April 26th at Trinity on the Hill Church for our annual spring concert! It is a free concert to all with donations gladly accepted. Concert begins at 6:30pm.

Last month Suzuki Strings of Augusta hosted our Spring Workshop for Strings. Over 40 students from the CSRA and Southeast participated in Master Classes, Orchestra, Chamber, Art, Creative Movement, Fiddling and Improv. These classes were lead by 7 amazing Suzuki guest clinicians from all over the Southeast.

We want to take a minute to thank the organizations that made this incredible event possible. Westminster Schools of Augusta, for allowing us to use their beautiful facility, The Ashley Foundation for providing workshop scholarships, and Constellation Energy for grant funding. Registration for SAGA’s 2024 Graduation Concert is open! 🎉

The inspiration for the SAGA Graduation stems from the tradition started by Dr. Suzuki long ago, when students from around the world would send cassette tapes of their individual performance of the appropriate-level graduation repertoire to Japan for Dr. Suzuki to evaluate. The goal is for the student to demonstrate mastery of all of the skills acquired during that particular book. Performances are evaluated by Suzuki Association of Georgia teachers on the topics of Posture, Tone, Technical Accuracy, Intonation, Musicianship, and Stage Presence (including memorization).

Happy World Philosophy day! Shinichi Suzuki based his philosophy on the belief that “Musical ability is not an inborn talent but an ability which can be developed. Any child who is properly trained can develop musical ability, just as all children develop the ability to speak their mother tongue. The potential of every child is unlimited.” At Suzuki Strings of Augusta, we're continuing to unlock the musical potential of children throughout the CSRA, and have been doing so for over 40+ years!
