Welcome back, Maine Arts Academy Moose!

We are so excited to welcome you back to the Maine Arts Academy!

We are looking forward to having your students join our arts-based school community and want to remind you of some important information, dates, and resources as we get ready for the 2026–27 school year.

Please take a few minutes to review the information below and keep this post handy as we get closer to the first day of school.

Important Dates & Information:
Monday, August 31, 2026 β€” First Day of School for New Students
Tuesday, September 1, 2026 β€” First Day of School for Returning

New Student Virtual Parent Informational Sessions:
We invite all new families to join us for a Virtual Middle & High School Parent Informational Session!

Due to virtual attendance capacity, sessions have been divided by grade level. During the session, you will have the opportunity to meet members of our staff, learn about their roles, and receive important information about how Maine Arts Academy operates and how we can work together to make your student's school year a successful one.

Bus Expectations & Safety:
We want all of our students to have a safe and positive experience while riding the bus. Please review the following expectations with your student before the first day:

Always follow the bus driver's and administration's directions. The driver has the authority to assign seats and establish additional rules when necessary.

Stay seated: Remain seated with your back against the seat and your bottom on it, facing forward, for the entire trip.

Keep it inside: Keep hands, arms, and heads inside the bus at all times.Keep aisles clear: Keep feet, backpacks, and other belongings out of the aisle.

No disruptions: Do not shout, throw items, or otherwise disturb the driver or other riders.

Respect personal space: Respect the personal space and property of others.

Safety equipment: Never tamper with bus controls or safety equipment, including emergency exits.

Cell phones: Keep phones on silent mode. Headphones are strongly encouraged when listening to personal electronic devices.

Language: Foul language is not permitted.

Trash: If you bring it onto the bus, it is your responsibility to take it with you when you exit. Please use the trash can when available.

Gum: No gum chewing on the bus.

Food & drinks: Food and drinks may create a choking hazard while riding and are not permitted.

Student conduct: Inappropriate actions between students are not permitted.

To***co & drugs: To***co and drug use of any kind is prohibited.School rules: All school rules outlined in the Student Handbook apply while riding the bus.

Seating: Middle school students will sit toward the front of the bus, while high school students will sit toward the back of the bus, with a clear separation between the two groups.

Two of our amazing students Isaac and Theo attended Dirigo State this past week. Dirigo State is an experiential youth leadership and government program for high school students. We are so proud of our students for being involved and making a difference!

Please note, there will be no summer school this Friday due to the July 4 holiday! See you all back on Monday! The last day of summer school will be July 9! Parents are invited to visit our campus to view the students’ culminating summer school projects in our auditorium starting at 9:00 am. All summer school students should be on campus on July 9. Have a great holiday weekend!
