Capital Basketball Academy

Capital basketball ended today. The campers had a blast. It was fun filled with guest speakers, tough comp, prize winners and learning to play the game we love so much here at Capital Basketball Academy 2. I know I’m tired so I can only imagine the kids😂. A lot goes into the week and I couldn’t have done it without my players from my program, staff at the Civic Center, and trainer from Maine general. I can’t wait for next year. Thank you players, campers and parents for a wonderful week 🏀

Great week of basketball at Capital Basketball Academy 2. At Capital Basketball Academy 2 we always have visitors. Monday we had Steve Carey UMA basketball Head Coach come in talk about the college/recruiting process and what coaches look for in kids when they are trying to recruit them. Tuesday we had Ed Downs who work with many NBA, MLB and NHL guys and showing guys how to take care of their bodies and compete in drills. Wednesday we had Levi Barnes who was in top 5 scoring in all of Division 3 and no.2 all time scoring list at Thomas College scoring over 1900pts. He showed the kids some shooting drills and talked bout his basketball journey. Today we had Mr Maine basketball Nolan Ames stopped in today to talk to the campers about his journey and his preparation to play Division 2 basketball at Bentley. We also had a special guest drop in to hang out Parker Morin Fitzpatrick finalist, McDonald’s basketball selection and finalist for the Winkin award which is Mr. Maine Baseball. A lot of special people coming into Capital Basketball Academy 2 with real life experiences from guys who been where the campers have been and knows what it takes to be an elite player. One more day of camp tomorrow I’m excited. Ball is life!!
